which one is better and more user friendly..also are there any other better alternatives.??

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are serious about blogging then wordpress or another blogging website would be better. But if you just want to get your content out there more quickly tumblr would be better.

Many people will consider their tumblrs blogs but I can't say I agree because 90% of most tumblrs are not original content coming from the people who own the tumblrs but just content that is reblogged. Some people do find some "fame" from posting their content on tumblr and tagging it properly.

It's very easy to just reblog instead of posting your own content on tumblr, so if you do plan on having just your own stuff on a tumblr then maybe make another tumblr account or just a side tumblelog on your account so you can reblog things to that tumblr.

Both are pretty customizable. Tumblrs tend to have shorter URLs unless you get a custom domain which you can do with either sites. Personally I prefer using tumblr to using wordpress because it is very easy and simple, with tumblr there are a lot of things you can add to customize both your tumblr and your experience on the dashboard. I did try Wordpress but it just wasn't for me, and I ended up returning to a Japanese website which includes blogs so I just post my personal things there.

There are also other options like blogger which is connected to google. I did use blogger for a while and I liked it but I couldn't get exactly what I wanted from it. Livejournal is also something that you might want to look into.

Wordpress

I would recommend Wordpress because it has a lot of features that can benefit your website and your workflow. I feel like Tumblr is very limited to just a few features that the company offers and that's it. With Wordpress on the other hand, you can download plugins for just about anything (Gallery, Contact Forms, Page Builders, etc....)

You did not specify for which purpose do you need to use any of the platforms you said. For you can create an ecommerce site or blog site with WordPress and if you wish to reach the web visitors through content marketing then tumblr is the best alternative for you.

Wordpress.

Tumblr is free and will host your site and as much content as you can post for free at a domain like yourname.tumblr.com. You can also use custom domain names and Tumblr will redirect your site to yourname.com.

WordPress is free to download and install on your own web server and has a huge library of 3rd party plugins and themes to make your site do just about anything you want with little or no expertise in web development.

WordPress is simple: it’s a platform that gives you all of the necessary tools to host your own blog. Tumblr, on the other hand, has more to it: it’s a social network of blogs, where you can not only read and post just about anything on your own blog, and comment on just about anything.

Tumblr doesn’t have plugins, and WordPress has a tons of plugins.

Wordpress is for more serious blogging. Tumblr is more for photos and reblogging. I'd use wordpress for getting your own content out there.

To my mind, WordPress is very easy to operate. It is a platform that gives you all of the necessary tools to decorate your own blog. For Tumblr, it's a social network of blogs, where you can not only read and post anything on your own blog, but comment on anything.

Hi! Adrijit

Tumbler generates more of images in blog posts and yes its easy to use for the user but I reccomend to use Wordpress as its quite wide and has more of the features to use for the user. So, go for the wordress I will recommend.

which one is better and more user friendly..also are there any other better alternatives.??

Wordpress best than tumblr.

Wordpress is more about serious blogging, depends on your requirement. Wordpress has some great features as well.

if you are thinking of blogging then no doubt wordpress is the best alternative available. most importantly coolest thing about wordpress is thousands of free plugin that will take care of your blog SEO,Social sharing,Traffic etc.

so don't have second thoughts and go for wordpress.

tumblr is fine if youre just posting pictures and videos. wordpress is more geared toward blogging, but of course with enough work you can totally customize either.

Wordpress has numerous features and facilitates with unique plugins which makes it different and better than other blogging platforms.

I wish to maintain a travelogue of my own containing pics and videos..which one suits best../??? wordpress or tumblr..??
