Getting hosting is renting a slice of hard drive space on an internet server (a computer running 24/7), usually for the purpose of uploading the files that make up a website. A domain will point to the server, and the web server app running on the physical server will serve the files when people visit the domain.
Ok I have no idea about this stuff can some explain?
In my mind I think you make up a clever .com name, go to godaddy, register it or whatever, then try to find someone that wants to buy your clever .com name.
Is this even close to how it works? What I'm saying is not doing any work at all to a site. You are just selling your clever .com name??
What is hosting?
