Microsoft Word automatically creates it when you type in two dashes -- followed by a space.
You can create it on your own, hold down the ALT key and then type in 0151.
To see all the special characters Click the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Character Map, and then, in the list of results under Programs, click Character Map.
