How to install sun java on CentOS?

Posted at: 2014-12-18
hello

i need the official sun java JRE on CentOS

it has no desktop so i need terminal commands.

i dont want the crappy and slow openJDK.

Find a repo that has a compatible sun java JRE distribution & you can either download it directly via the terminal via the wget command or add the repo to your CENTOS installation via the terminal so that you can yum install the java version you want.

Java based application running on a server will slow down the system somewhat anyway.

Ask your question here. you'll get the right answers....
