What tablet is best for Computer Science/Engineering major or is best for coding?

Hi,

If You're specifically looking for something for coding, You may want to look int running a different OS JUST for coding ... I highly recommend a 16Gb flashdrive running a live Puppy Linux with the Geany editor.

It's a complete OS and handles a huge number of programming languages and compiling them, etc ... You can then use ANY tablet You can find, any price, as long as it boots from USB.

G'Luck!!

If coding means running an IDE like Eclipse or Visual Studio (btw, it's free for college students via Dreamspark), you'll definitely need a tablet with an i3, i5 or i7 CPU, for example, the Surface Pro.

Android and iPad operating system, CPU, and hardware are so limited and weak, their own development environments only run on PCs or Macs. They are perfectly ok for simple text editors with rudimentary syntax highlighting, only the Samsung Tab Pro and Surface Pro have pressure-sensitive styluses (great for handwriting).

I don't have any particular preference for brand or price range. I want something I can take notes on (writing with a stylus), surf the web, access textbook PDFs, and most importantly write code. Definitely want something with good battery life and high resolution. I'm having trouble finding any good information on tablets and coding. I don't want a laptop, I already have one. I want a tablet so I'm not carrying around a laptop all day.
