So F-35 Fighter Jet Wikipedia page says that program cost is US$1.0165 trillion (projected over 55 years) while more advanced F-22 program cost is US$66.7 billion. How is that possible? And what does over 55 years mean? It won't take like 55 years to develop it right? Because first orders are to be delivered sometime around 2016. And also how much more advanced is F-22 Raptor compared to F-35? And it was also said that one of the reasons of F-35 development was the high cost of F-22 but F-22 costs 150M and F-35 can cost up to 150Minsh. So it is not so much of a discount is it?
