Just an average number to get an idea, 100k 500k 1Million ??

Why would you want to know that, and how would you qualify that anyway?

The definition of a "user" could be anyone that has downloaded any version of the software, how many people bought a license to use the software or how many people are proficient at using the software.

There are probably thousands of curious people that downloaded the software, saw how difficult it was to use and just abandoned it, half that many that bought a license, tried to learn it an abandoned it, a fraction of that many people that have tried to use it but are not very good at it, only several dozen of people that can use it and only a few handful that have mastered it.

It's a very a complicated and intensely user unfriendly software. Especially when it comes to animation. Nowadays CG skills are broken down into tasks the same way cell-by animation use to be broken down.

I'm an Autodesk Flame artist with 23 years in the industry.

Why are you worrying about the users? Just concentrate on learning the programs and get the skills.

3D industry is huge. They are thousands of people who are using 3d programs such as 3Ds Max, Maya, MODO, Zbrush, Mudbox, etc. but only few of them able to grasp those programs completely. In 3D, there are many position such as 3D concept artist, modeler, texturer, rigger, animator, sculptor, VFX artist, and many more. And also these positions are divided into further. For example: Animator --> 1. Lip Sync animator. 2. Stunts Animator 3. Scene animator and so on.

If you have plan to work in the 3D industry, the only thing I can say that learn everything and master one position in which you are going to apply for.
