Since you already know some computer programming, you should postpone learning another language, and work on advanced computer skills. In particular, you should learn how to use search engines to find information on Java (and other things). Apparently, that isn't a part of your basic computer skills.

One of the first things you should search for is the address of your local library. Most libraries have books on Java. If they don't have any, discuss the situation with the librarian.

I know basic computer skills, and I've learned basic, very basic programming skills in Pascal, matlab and fortran.

Now I want to learn JAVA to program either programs to computers and mobile apps. I've been told that it's better to start with computer programs, but I don't know how to start, do you know any books or something good and helpful?
