Python is a general purpose language.

To determine for what it is used "MORE", you'd need to define some kind of metric. Number of professional python coders? Number of web sites vs. applications?

As for web development with python, one usually uses a framework like flask or Django. But again, saying that software development is better or worse than building a flask based web app is meaningless, mainly because web apps *are* software.

Also, why do you care? You want to be a software developer, right? What exactly is the point of this question?
