You can check on the official website. I have the r4 3ds dual core with the 2013 sticker and it is working just fine on my nintendo 3DS XL right now with system version 9.0.0 update. I have been using this card since the end of 2012 and each update, I can use the new firmware. On the official store, it even shows the 2013 card with new firmware which can work with the 2013 r4 3ds dual core card right now on 3DS v9.0.0-20

R4i sdhc daul core 2013 and r4i rts 2013 are the old version cards from r4isdhc team, which has stopped getting firmware updates and supports, coz the official team has released the latest 2014 version cards, they will provide the firmware updates for the new cards instead of the old ones. In other words, your cart has already been blocked by the 3ds firmware updates, and you can use it on lower version consoles only. i think it's impossible to update your card now to make it work on the latest 3ds firmware because the r4i sdhc dual core card has changed a lot since 2014. they even didn't leave the update patch on official site because they have changed the card. currently the only choice is to get a new card and the best card also upgradable is the r4i gold 3ds or supercard dstwo, http://www.r4igold3dsusa.com/genuine-woo...

I have a 3ds Xl and a R4 sdhc dual core 2013. I also have a r4i Rts (purple also 2013). When I load the Dual Core it says to turn the power off and refer to the operations manual. And for the R4i it says loading then goes to a white page. I UPGRADED TO 8.1.0-19. I know this was my mistake and that I should have upgraded the firmware first (or something like that). I was using the dual core at the time. Can someone please leave a link for the kernel and firmware. Instructions would be nice too... Thank you!
