Assuming the Acer Monitor works with other devices, then it may be that you have set the RPi's display resolution to be higher than the Acer monitor can support. To check this, connect to another display (such as your friend's TV or another display using the Composite Video output, once you have an imagd on screen; run RaspConfig to set the resolution to the lowest value. Then connect it to your Acer monitor.

Not all screens are created equal. You may have to simply accept that the small screen does not conform to HDMI standard, or is damaged in some way. Have you ever got the small screen to work with any other device?

OK Let me first say I just got a raspberry pi b+. I'm doing good so far. I installed raspbmc on it and when it restarted it gave the boot animation the went to a black screen. This is on a Small Acer HDMI monitor. I connected it to my friends 45 (I think) inch TV and it worked fine. How do I make it work on the small monitor? THANKS!!!
